Ride leader – Amy
Two days of riding on mixed trails, back roads, 4WD tracks and single tracks. Interesting history and forest. Lovely creek, with a few crossings. Pub dinners, toilets and showers at Caravan Park. Bring hot tape yards for your horses, and wood for the fire pot.
There will also be an afternoon ride on the Friday for those that arrive early.
We will eat at the pub on Friday and Saturday night. There is usually a band on Saturday night. Please let me know if you do not wish to eat at the pub, as I will be making a booking for all that RSVP to the ride.
Ride Distance/duration
Estimated distance – approx 20 kms
Estimated duration – approx 4 hours of riding each day
*Note: These are estimates only and can change subject to weather, trail conditions, issues with horses and so on
Conditions
Equines to be shod or booted as we will travel over various surfaces including some gravelly back roads however most tracks are granitic sand. Some road riding on back roads. River crossings and hilly tracks. There are sometimes motorbikes in the Eldorado National Park where we’ll be riding.
There are a few creek crossings and some hills but these rides are generally not technical.
Nominations/RSVP
To nominate/RSVP please contact Amy via TEXT MESSAGE on 0408 342 990.
I will be arriving Friday at lunch time, and staying til Sunday evening. You can stay Sunday night as well if you wish to.
Limit to 10 horses. Partners and other non riding friends and family welcome. Nominations have to be in by 10th April.
You will need to also book and pay for your nights accommodation at the Eldorado Caravan Park (aka – Camp Crusty – Eldorado) via their website.
Please add to your booking ‘One child’ for each horse that you are bringing.
Also, put in the comments “Booking for child is actually a horse. With KDTRC Horse Group, please book campsite with them”
You need to expect to pick up every bit of hay and pooh that your horse leaves and set up a yard that is large enough to minimise the impact on the grass. Pooh and hay has to be put on the compost pile at the caravan park.
Any non-ATHRA members must register for ATHRA Day Membership AT LEAST THE DAY BEFORE the ride.
