Ovens Valley Horse Riders Association was formed to provide the local area with a riding group covered by insurance. We hold meetings once a month and plan to organise a ride on 1 Saturday, 1 Sunday, with a camp on most months excluding winter.
We aim to run a friendly, non-judgemental and fun group. All levels of riders are welcome.
The purposes of the association:
1) To Promote, encourage and foster trail horse riding in the OVENS VALLEY Region.
2) To have a culture that promotes recreational horse riding, personal health and wellbeing through active participation, horse riding skills and horse welfare.
3) To provide a supportive environment for novice and nervous member development including networking support services.
4) To educate members in order to promote safe and environmentally responsible trail horse riding, and the protection and conservation of Australia’s natural and cultural environment.
5) To preserve horse riding trails and to co-operate with appropriate user groups and government departments to achieve this aim.
6) To foster awareness of road rules and safety issues relating to horse riding
7) To Affiliate with the Australian Trail Horse Riders Association (ATHRA) Financial Year
Our club was formed in 2016.
