About the Club

The Gympie Region Horse Trail Riding Club is dedicated to promoting safe, enjoyable, and environmentally responsible trail riding experiences. As a not-for-profit organization, we strive to educate and guide riders of all skill levels while fostering a deep respect for our region’s rich equestrian heritage. Through our commitment to best practices in horse care, rider safety, and sustainable land use, we aim to preserve trail access for future generations.

By encouraging participation in this rewarding recreational activity, we highlight the physical, emotional, and spiritual benefits of horseback trail riding, building a supportive community of riders who share a love for adventure and the great outdoors.

It’s not just about the ride but the journey—feeling the rhythm of the horse’s movements, appreciating the surrounding beauty our region has to offer, and being fully present in the moment. Whether exploring quiet forests, open plains, or winding mountain trails, it’s a soul-enriching experience that fosters freedom, adventure, and a sense of partnership with your horse.

We try to hold a ride once a month exploring the beautiful Gympie, Sunshine Coast and Fraser Coast areas.  Generally, our rides are within a 2hr travel radius of Gympie.  We are mainly a walk trot club but depending on the day and the group attending we also canter (rider and horse safety is our number one priority).

The trail distance we cover on our rides is anywhere from 15km to 25km.  Check out our Facebook page for our ride calendar, ride information and other promoted events in our region.

Club History

The Gympie Region Horse Trail Riding Club was formed in 2025 by a group of like-minded individuals who saw a need for a trail riding club in the Gympie region, a club where people can come together and share their passion for horse trail riding, which is an incredible way to connect with nature, build a bond with your horse, and embrace mindfulness.
