I have been an avid horse lover since early childhood. We lived across the road from a small farm belonging to a farrier and his family, I would go over and help in the hope I would be able to ride their young children’s ponies when they had got bored, (they were only about 3 or 4 at the time and I was about 10 or 11.

Thankfully they saw how keen I was, then I was allowed to ride more often and go to pony club with their horses.

I then managed to have the use of a few lease horses and from then on my parents never knew where I was on the weekend, except they knew I was somewhere riding a horse with friends up and down roads, across properties and just having lots of fun.

Fast forward to 30 years ago, I started trail and endurance riding.  I started trail riding with the Manning Trail Horse Riders Club in NSW and was the club Secretary for many years before moving to Qld in 2008.

I have been actively involved in ATHRA at a State and then National Level since about 1997.

I am passionate about trail riding, education of my horses and the sustainability of the association.  I enjoy organising events and seeing our members out there just ‘living life trail riding’. It is simply the best!
