VENUE
ADDRESS: Sapphire Coast Horse Trail Riders Club
grounds, Weber Park, Storey Ave, Eden.
TRIP PLANS: It is proposed that
on Saturday the 12th September, members will travel to a private
property at 140 Briagalong-Stockdale Road, Briagalong for an overnight stay.
Travel time is estimated at just over 5 hours.
Our host Linda & Chris Fencaros have kindly extended an invitation
to the Club. Linda will lead us on a
very relaxed and easy ride in the local bush midafternoon. We plan to have
dinner at the Briagalong Pub on Saturday night.
On Sunday we will travel to
Weber Park at Eden, (estimated travel time of 4.5 hours), where we will camp
for the week. Members will need to take
food & drink supplies, but shops are handy in Eden. Obviously take all your horse feed and other
needs. Toilet and shower facilities are available, as well as a clubhouse with
hot water, fridge, microwave, BBQ and oven, tables and chairs. Power is
available for car fridges. You must provide your own electric yards which can
be erected behind your camp. We will have the choice of dining at local
pubs/eateries etc., or to remain at the grounds for BBQ or other style dining of
an evening. A poets’ night is planned, so bring along your
favourite verse/s. No dogs permitted on this camp. We depart for home on Sunday the 20th
September.
This year we will take part in a Navigation Ride on
Saturday the 19th. There will
be a dinner and entertainment that night, (the $250 fee is inclusive of all
costs), Other rides will include beach rides to coffee shops and cafes, some
hilly tracks with beautiful scenery, plus more, a totally different riding
experience to our local rides. Details
of each day’s riding will be announced on the previous evening. Each day we will be joined by members of the
Sapphire Coast Club, led by Tony Hart. Please bring clean weed free hay for
your horse as it is difficult to obtain locally.
Positions on the camp will only be allocated after payment of the $250
fee is confirmed.
