HTRC training day
When: Sunday 21st April 2013
Where: Wauchope Pony club grounds (next door to the Wauchope sale yards)
Time: 9:00 for 9:30 start (will be followed by HTRC General Meeting, commencing 12:30pm)
What to expect: This month’s horsemanship day will be all about de-sensitisation & introducing our horses to objects they would not normally come in contact with. There will be a large bouncing ball to play with, Tarps to walk over and drape over the horses, some pool noodles to rub over the horses, and walk over, under & through, Tyres to walk around, Gates to open & close, and any other interesting little things we can come across to play with.
The Majority of the day will be on the ground, but towards the end, for those horses game enough, we can do some ridden work around the obsticles.
If there is time we can start looking into some Trail Ride Challenges which will be coming up in the near future, & start getting some practice in for those.
If anyone has any items at home they feel would be good to introduce the horses too, please bring them along. The more we have to play with the better.
