Trail Training Tips

With us being in lockdown these past few weeks we know it’s been hard for us all not to have been able to get out and about with our fellow members and friends, doing what we all enjoy, 'Living Life Trail Riding'.  We know that restrictions have impacted us all with our regular riding and what we have and have not been allowed to.  It has certainly varied from state to state and we anticipate that to resume trail rides, it is looking like a staggered process that will depend on each of the different state regulations.

With this in mind, ATHRA is pleased to announce that we have teamed up with Ken Faulkner from Australian Horsemanship to provide to you with a 10 week series of Trail Training Tips, that you will be able to watch, learn and practice each week in the lead up to us getting back out there on the trails in larger groups.

These are just a few of the fundamental skills needed to educate your horse and most importantly, to keep you safe on the trails.  Watch the videos, listen to the tips and then have some fun practicing these. Before you know it getting out on the trail will be so much more enjoyable.

ATHRA  will be releasing one new Trail Training Tip each week, so you will get time to practice and master each one (or just provide a refresher if you are already doing this) before moving onto the next one.  At the end of your sessions, try making a quick video from your phone and upload it to the ATHRA Facebook page to show us all how you are going.

Enjoy the videos, have fun practicing and getting ready for staying safe at home and when we are all back on the trails. Week Two will be out next Thursday - just in time for the following weekend :)
