Mount Manypeaks Horse & Pony Club (MMHPC)

    When: Wed 26th Oct 2016

    Time: 10am – 2pm

Meet location: Albany Equestrian Centre, Roberts Road, Robinson (Albany).

TRAIL BOSS, Deb Wilde, will select the most appropriate loop for group.

The Stidwell Bridle Trail consists of three clearly signposted loops that start at the Albany Equestrian Centre on Roberts Road.

ROBINSON LOOP - 7.5km: This loop winds through Robinson Estate using treelined road verges and undeveloped road reserves to avoid on-road riding.

WERILLUP LOOP - 11km: Sandy bush tracks lead to the summit of Werillup Hill where a shelter, watering trough and hitching rail provide a comfortable rest stop for riders and horses.

SAND PATCH LOOP - 12km: This loop travels along wide road verges to reach wildflower-rich areas to the south and west. The trail crosses the road leading to the popular fishing spot at Sandpatch.

Please follow the guidelines below to minimise the impact of horse riding on the

environment, private property and other trail users.

•Clean horses’ feet before riding to avoid carrying soil containing weeds or the plant disease known as ‘dieback’ into the bush.

    • Feed horses with processed food (not hay or chaff) for 12 hours prior to riding to avoid spreading weed seeds into the bush.

    • Stay on marked bridle trails.

    • Avoid straying onto private property.

    • Leave gates as you find them.

    • Be courteous when meeting other trail users.

    • Walk your horse quietly when passing.

    • Move to the side of the trail and ensure your horse’s hindquarters are facing away from whomever is passing.
